Released as the theme song for the television drama of the same name, “Amaku Kiken na Kaori” moves at an unhurried pace. Its smooth, settled rhythm is central to Tatsuro Yamashita's idea of sophisticated mellow music: relaxed on the surface, but exact in every detail.

Tsunehide Matsuki's sensual guitar and Mariya Takeuchi's voice in the chorus add still more color. The arrangement is luxurious without becoming crowded, giving the song the glow of a late-night city seen through glass.
