“Komugiiro no Mermaid” lets Seiko Matsuda sing summer at an unusually gentle pace. Yumi Matsutoya's melody and Takayuki Hijikata's guitar help create a refined resort-pop atmosphere, with the arrangement leaving room for each small emotional turn.
“Madras Check no Koibito” continues the seasonal mood on the reverse. The single's appeal lies in its restraint: sunlit, melodic and polished, but never hurried.
