Marine Blue
Mother Goose
The review
“Marine Blue” is the softer half of an unusually strong single by Mother Goose. The trio's close voices retain a folk-like freshness, while the arrangement opens around them with the smooth, carefully measured atmosphere of late-seventies city pop.
The other side, “Boekifu ni Sarasarete,” brings a brighter rhythmic lift and chorus work with clear Sugar Babe affinities. Together they show two sides of the group: breezy and direct on one face, gently mellow on the other.
