“City Nights” takes Off Course into a dry, nocturnal groove. The bass and clipped guitar create a firm pulse, while Kazumasa Oda and Hitoshi Shimizu trade lines and chorus parts with characteristic precision.
Paired with “Midori no Hibi,” it is a polished mid-eighties single whose reverse side carries its own distinct city atmosphere—cool, rhythmic and built for after dark.
