1982 · THE LISTENING ROOM
NETSUTOU GENSHOU
Kazushi Inamura
The review
Five years after his major-label debut, Inamura made this more fully developed city-pop album. The sound is softer and more melodic, with a freer production that moves the earlier record's ideas forward.
A1 through B6 show a stronger sense of ease and a fresh facet of his music. Even the melody line of B5, which recalls an earlier song, is heard in a new light here. There is a sense of space in the playing, but the musical ideas remain closely packed together.
