1975 · THE LISTENING ROOM
YUMEOIBITO
Kei Ogura
The review
Kei Ogura, a singer and songwriter of striking melodic gifts, leaves his melodies steeped in a world of poetry. The arrangements by Jean Musy of France are another attraction of this album. The chorus on B1, also sung by Mariko Takada, has an appealingly sophisticated finish.
Hear the two performances side by side: a speed-driven, freewheeling sensation runs through Yo Inoue's A3, while Michel Bernholc's synthesizers bring a very different color. The credits include musicians such as Claude Uadal and David T. Walker; the record was recorded in Los Angeles.
